Applying Road Load Prediction for Automotive and Aerospace Durability Applications

FTire is the leading higher-frequency vehicle tire simulation model used in the automotive industry. FTire is designed for ride comfort simulations and road load prediction for durability applications, on road irregularities even with extremely short wave-lengths at high rolling speed. As both a structural mechanics and thermodynamics based model, FTire can be used to simulate complex belt dynamics, contact patch friction states, and temperature and tread wear dependent tire behavior. FTire is not limited to vehicle tires only, but can be used to simulate dynamics of aero tires. It can be used for investigations like wheel shimmy, extreme wheel spin-up during landing, landing gear loads from surface irregularities, and high vertical and lateral loads during taxiing and parking.

He has been with Altair since 2000, gaining experience in engineering product development and software program management. In his current role as a technical lead for the Altair Partner Alliance, Sridhar drives a synergetic relationship between Altair offering and its Partners. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Osmania University in India, and a Master’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with a major in Mechanical Engineering and a minor degree in Applied Mechanics.
